Praha Fixed gear is Prague’s online community for all things fixie. We plan to bring the news, organize the events and generally be the hub. The fixed hub, pun intended, for everyone who is into vintage, custom and otherwise interesting bikes. We’ll try hard not to carry on about “culture” – especially in reference to stuff you can buy. We’ll try to post your shots and videos and mostly be nice. Rob and Micah will be your moderators, and may there one day be many more.

Nice. I hope the skaters are not giving you too much grief for stealing their best riding spot and that the plans to develop that place into Sea World go away. Good luck with this!!

Hi guys.
I’m András, from Hungary. I spend a few days in your beutyfull city, and i like to see the bike-side of Praha.
Have you some bike-polo team? Is some place in your city, wher the bikers meet and have some beer?
I’m intrested about your bike life, in the city. 🙂
Regards:
Andras
hey fellas. i’m a bike kid from the dry and much warmer american southwest. i’ll be relocating to praha next month for the better part of the year. who do i get in touch with in order to get down with bike rides and beer drinking?
You come to the right place, fella. We ride bikes and drink beer! Bring yr bikes and yr mittens – it’s warm at the moment, but gets bloody cold about January. FYI, bikes and gear are nearly twice the price over here, so it’s worth it to take one with you.
This is for Micah.
Micah, David here at Bianchi USA.
I originally let Urban Velo know about your blog and they published it on their web site. I’m not sure if it was good or bad, but I see you are getting into some heated discussions about your altercation with the taxi driver. All I hope is that some good comes out of it all.
Best to you and Praha Fixed Gear.
David
HI David,
Thanks for posting it. I hope things don’t get “too” heated, but I was definitely happy to have the opportunity to read these different points of view. I’m really not an aggressive person, but I do wonder how far is far enough with some people. It was the whole point of posting the letter here, since a Czech taxi driver is unlikely to read some tiny biking blog in English. Self-critique, I think they used to call it 😉 Cheers.
My wife is from Czech and I was wondering if there is bike culture there!
My question is been answer.
I’m from NYC !
Keep the good work.

Hi guys,
We are the 1st official club of fixed gear in Moravia. We belong under the wings of the company Max Cursor importing luxury bikes and parts into CZE. Being the importer of the Cinelli mark, we spread our interest onto fixie components. See our new web page http://www.moraviafixed.cz, or the complete stuff on: http://www.maxcursor.cz
hey guys. i need some help. i am in prague, and i have my bike, but its in peices and i need to do some work. sounds like you have a workspace/tools in letna. i would be interested in bringing a big bag full of beer there in exchange for some worktime. i really just need to do a bb overhaul at the least, and finish the build. i’m competent in the shop. get ahold of me, please! i don’t have tools and i am aching to get moving. scott. bigscottone@gmail.com
Thanx for your good words @ fb!
Dont really know who left the sticker on your bike but its awesome that people riding cities communicate in that way!
Big ups to all the people riding in Prague!

Hi! I’m visiting europa from the states this summer. I play polo in atlanta, georgia. I am visiting prague between June 17-19 and would love to see some polo action/beer drinking/fun! I vaguely remember meeting Rob when he came to the ATL, hopefully he’s reading this!
Hey guys,
Not sure if that s something anyone would be interested in, but we have recently started our own brand of single speed fixed gear bikes in London (www.foffabikes.com) and are looking for bike enthusiasts to represent the brand either locally or nationally in exchange of some commissions.
What we are looking for is someone to that is gonna contact all mayor bike shops and retailers in the area and promote the brand online (by contacting related forums and blogs).
This is an opportunity for someone passionate about single speed bikes to make a bit of money on the side so if that s something you would consider, send me an email (dani@foffabikes.com) and we can discuss all the details,
All the best,
Dani
