April Alleycat report

Salo donated the data from his GPS dingbat showing the route he took to second place at Saturday’s alleycat. Huge thanks to everyone for turning out to race, and especially to Toby for taking pictures, Janek for the loan of his scooter and Dave for riding on the back of it with my video camera while holding on for dear life…

Once again, the Pardubice crew turned up and made a nice showing for East Bohemia – can’t wait for the May 1 ride down there!

Turns out that it’s faster to ride a bike on this route than to ride a scooter! Salo’s time was 36.7 minutes and Rob finished just before him. When Dave and I arrived at Cross Club for the finish, they were already waiting there :-S

I think it is important to note that the first part of the film is a climb. It is not noticeable on the video, but the grade was quite steep. That is the reason for the ‘nonchalant’ looking pace.

It was quite cool race and I like it very much; it was real fun even though I´d thought I´m gonna to resignate on a first check-point as the first part was really tough… Those cobblestones were real challenge🙂

themicah, great video! jonas, why must you so totally embody the kind of cynicism that’s become almost de rigueur in today’s www-world? You make my head hurt.
